Martin Acoustic Guitars

You are bidding on a kit to make an M or 0000 size 14 fret guitar with right hand cutaway in solid mahogany and spruce from Martin parts.  The kit features a fully assembled rim, an abalone center ring in the rosette and a fretted fretboard.  For those not familiar with the M/0000 size it has a full 16" lower bout with the body depth and narrow waist of a 000.  This rim was from production of the MC-18 "Woody Mann" signature model.  Not a Martin factory boxed kit but made up from parts purchased at the Martin factory for use in my luthiery business.  All parts first quality unless otherwise noted.  All parts are guaranteed to be compatible with one another to make the instrument described but no guarantee can be offered to cover buyer labor and end result.  Please read the entire description before submitting questions as the answer to your question may already be in the text.   Kit includes:  Solid mahogany back (unjoined but with the joint line established, there is a style 28 'checker' backstrip included, the back shows fine grain texture and pore structure, good color, profile and bracing locations marked for you), solid mahogany sides (factory bent, profiled, trimmed and assembled into a complete rim with birch neck and end blocks and cedar kerfed lining installed, the sides are a good color and grain character match for the back), solid sitka spruce top (factory joined and rosetted with abalone pearl center ring installed, the top shows straight and even grain throughout its width and good color, well quarter sawn with some medullary rays or 'silking' in the grain, profile and hybrid X/A frame bracing locations marked for you), solid mahogany neck (factory machined to near final profile, the neck has a mortise and tenon "bolt-on" style neck joint, 25.4" scale, truss rod channel routed, rosewood headstock veneer), rosewood fretboard (factory radiused, slotted, fretted and inlaid with pearl dot position markers, 1 11/16" nut width), rosewood bridge (belly, 2 1/8" pin spacing), 2-way adjustable truss rod, X/A hybrid pattern top bracing (5/16", 2 tone bars and 4 wing braces), back bracing, tortoise colored binding, heel cap and end graft, style 18 top purflings, nut blank, saddle and bridge pins.  The buyer will provide the following items, all of which are commonly available through various luthier supply outlets: pickguard, tuners, glue and finish.  The kit is offered with no reserve and a $1 opening bid.   All parts are guaranteed to be compatible with one another to make the guitar described.  No such guarantee can be supply outlets.  Please note that not all plans and instructions are the same, and not all are directly applicable to any one kit.  The patterning that I have done is sufficient in most cases to make the use of blueprint style plans unnecessary.  However, if you obtain such plans they may not correspond perfectly with the patterning done in the kit as designs and plans vary somewhat.  As such I recommend all buyers contact me by email in order to clear up any confusion if plans are purchased that don't align with the patterning provided.  I accept no responsibility for mistakes made in BEFORE YOU BID with your address for a shipping quote.  International buyers pay a small premium ($10) to cover costs and time of filing customs paperwork and transporting the package out to the shipping carrier.  Some foreign destinations and their typical shipping rates (all these rates include my handling fee but NOT insurance):  Australia ($66.20), Japan ($59.50), UK and most of western Europe ($55.50), Canada ($39.50).  Insurance will add a few dollars to the rate for international buyers based on the final bid price.   I require payment by Paypal for all buyers outside the US.  Notice to non-US buyers...I will not falsify value information on customs forms to save you on import taxes, please don't ask. NYS buyers must pay 8% state sales tax.  RETURNS:  I will only accept returns under the condition that the item is demostrably different than described.  In such a case the buyer must contact me before returning the item to register his/her concern and receive approval
