Last week we listed many sets of old guitar and mandolin tuners last from a closed music shop which had been in storage for 25-30 years, maybe longer in some cases. This is a continuation of items from that shop. Some complete tuner sets and some partial sets. We remind you that we are NOT experts in identifying all these items and expect you to undertake your own research by, among other things, asking all questions before bidding. Nevertheless, we strive in good faith to attempt to identify these items, to provide good clear pictures and to that end we will gladly post any well informed corrective emails we receive. Unlike the vast majority of Ebay sellers, we list our items without a reserve and with a LOW opening bid, so we have elected to let the chips fall where they may in a manner of speaking. As such and given the age of these items, please understand that all our sales are final so please bid accordingly.

Now this is a rare guitar tuner! We are offering a SINGLE 1930’s era Grover G-93(?) Sta-tite tuner for the treble side of the guitar. We’ve been told that this unique tuner, introduced in the early to mid 1930's, was the predecessor to the Grover G-98 tuner and was used on several valuable Gibson and Martin guitars in the mid 1930’s like the Roy Smeck Stage Deluxe and the Century to name a few. Experts will immediately recognize this rare tuner and we will certainly post any informed emails received about other guitar models which might have sported these tuners.

The tuner appears to be in excellent original condition. It rotates smoothly and is not bent. The tuner button is constructed from a hard ivoroid plastic compound and is solid though slightly dirty. Grover is engraved in small print on the side of the worm gear. The string hole is at the end of the shaft (for solid headstock models). Definitely a good single tuner to have around in case you need one to properly restore your 1930’s era guitar.

A word about shipping costs…something we have no control over! We strive in earnest to keep your shipping costs to a minimum. We check all the major carriers in an effort to quote the least expensive shipping cost and we do not add handling fees. However, Paypal requires sellers to have proof of delivery or risk a charge back when a buyer claims non-receipt. For that reason, we are compelled to buy and charge the cost of insurance and tracking to any buyer using Paypal to fund a purchase. The cost of insurance is what typically inflates the shipping costs, especially with international shipping and this includes Canada. A buyer who prefers to use another acceptable payment method, other than Paypal, to fund a purchase has the option of declining insurance and reducing the shipping costs. Simply clear this with us when you receive your invoice and we will gladly cooperate in an effort to minimize your shipping costs. Thank you for understanding.

International bidders are welcome but please request a shipping quote before bidding. Please also note the following:

Import duties, taxes and charges are not included in the item price or shipping charges. These charges are the buyer’s responsibility and are normally collected by the delivering freight (shipping) company or when you pick the item up – do not confuse them for additional shipping charges.
Please check with your country’s customs office to determine what these additional costs will be prior to bidding/buying. We do not mark merchandise values below value or mark items as ‘gifts’ - US and International government regulations prohibit such behavior.

ABOUT US - We remind you that we are NOT experts in the items being auctioned but have sufficient familiarity with them to be able to describe what we see and know to the best of our abilities. We are in fact a retired professional married couple with enough free time to now sell items we have accumulated over many years and to promptly, and always politely, respond to your inquiries which we welcome. Whenever possible, we have included extra pictures with each listing so that the bidder has an opportunity to examine as many pictures as possible. However, we reserve the right to remain human! This means that we can make a mistake at times in describing an item and opinions do differ. If this happens, please contact us to address the issue before bidding.
