                 MARTIN D-16 M, ACOUSTIC GUITAR, VERY RARE.


The information gathered is from the book Martin Guitar a Technical Reference. By Richard Johnston and Dick Boak.


This Martin has a mahogany back and sides and a sitka spruce top. The top and back is bound with black inlay wit ha separator down the center of the back. The bridge is Brazilian Mahogany as well as the neck. For a guitar of this age there is very little fret wear. There is a bump on the side at the bottom where it may have been bopped on a table, there is also a bump on the back, see the photos.


The 1986  D16-M   there were only 88 guitars made.


The 1987 D16-M there were only 590 guitars made.


The 1989 D16-M there were only 660 guitars made.


The 1990 D16-M there were only 782 guitars made.


This Martin comes with a hardshell case from the same period.


The original sales and warrantee papers come with the guitar as well, the serial numbers on the papers match the inside serial number which is #471107 which if looked on the Martin manufacturing chart would put it 1986-1987.
