FREE SHIPPING AND INSURANCE WITH "BUY IT NOW"! (and, see new guitar feedback below)...  Joseph Gross is a well-know luthier in the Pacific Northwest.  This guitar, Serial No. 046, was Joseph's personal guitar when he played in a bluegrass band.   I hand-picked this guitar from a selection of 12 of Joseph Gross's drednaughts when he closed his shop in Diamond Lake, WA in 2007. This guitar was the brightest, warmest, and had the most sustain of the entire lot (which explains why it was Joseph's personal bluegrass band playing guitar).  The guitar is a dreadnaught design and copied after the well-known and extremely popular D28 Martin Guitar. For my ear (and many players agree), the dreadnaught acoustic provides the best range of lows to highs.  The bass notes on my Joseph are deep and rich, and the highs are bright and crystal clear.  Mids are non-dominate so that chorded notes have a sweet tone and offer melodic nuances that come only with a fine hand-crafted dreadnaught guitar.  The lows, highs and projection of this guitar are astounding, including the warm overtones that allow this guitar to outperform many of the $2,500 plus models available.  MATERIALS:  Solid Sitka spruce top; solid (and exceptionally beautiful) East Indian Rosewood back and sides; ebony fretboard & bridge; Honduran mahogony neck, Grover 18:1 classis tuners.   CONSTRUCTION: Scalloped X-bracing, Herringbone rosette and trim, iveroid binding.  The guitar's condition is a 8.5 out of 10.  There are some of Joseph's personal string winding tool marks on the side of the headstock, and you can see a repair to the center of the soundboard which separated and was repaired by Joseph before I bought it.  It in no way affects the sound quality (Remember, it out-performed the other 11 Joseph guitars I picked from, and you will notice in my feedback below that I have sold 5 of my other guitars including another Joseph, but have kept this Joseph guitar as my favorite) . 


Today, Joseph sells his dreadnaughts for $1,495!  Here is an opportunity to get the "pick of the litter" of an obscure but quality luthier's handiwork for a great price!  I'm selling this wonderful guitar, because I upgraded to a Santa Cruz DPW (a $3,500 guitar), and have no need for two acoustic dreadnaughts (there's also a bit of pressure from my wife :-)

In terms of shipping, everything went fine, the packaging was top notch and the box came in good condition as well. The guitar sounds amazing! I haven't had a chance to plug it in yet but I'm sure that will be great too. The D and the A strings specifically seem to resonate well in the guitar and make a beautiful sound (perhaps its just my untrained ear but thats what i hear). Also the rosewood is beautifully grained and i really love the satin finish that comes with the D-03. Thanks again i will definitely leave you very positive and detailed feed back tonight.
