I couldn't resist buying this gorgeous 1962 Martin Terz guitar. (Terz means Third in German. It's a very small-bodied guitar designed to be tuned up a minor third fro E, so starting at G). I had wanted a small guitar for songwriting purposes, a player, then fell in love with this one instead, which is more of a collectors item. Now, as I don't dare keep it out and accessible as I would a player, I'm willing to part with it. But it's beautiful. It's as though it had spent 50 years in a time capsule. There are a couple of dings on the body, but tiny. The top is nearly flawless. The finish is excellent. I took it to Truetone in Santa Monica and asked them to check it out. I was a little concerned that maybe it had been refinished, because it was so clean but they said No. It was just a gorgeous little guitar that no one seems to have touched for 50 years. Even the case is in virtually new condition, except for a little rust around some of the rivets. If you're looking for a nearly perfect little vintage instrument, I guarantee you won't be disappointed. It plays beautifully. The action is mid-low and right on. The tone is bright and full, perfect for sitting around and playing the blues, or anything else for that matter. It's a guitar that will sound great in the studio, too. Good luck.
