This auction is for a custom ordered Martin 00028 VS steel string guitar. The idea behind this guitar was to achieve the warm tone of a Martin parlor 12 fret steel string with the power of a full 25.4" neck scale length. The scale length is 25-4/10", the upper and lower bout width measure 10-3/4" and 15-1/8" respectively, the body thickness measures 3-1/8" at the top bout and 3-15/16" at the bottom. The oveall length of the body is 20-1/2". It has east Indian rosewood back and sides and an Adirondack spruce top, mahogany neck (with flat finish) with 1-7/8" nut width, rosewood headstock overlay, ebony fingerboard and bridge, traditional mother of pearl "snowflake position markers, bone nut and saddle, Waverly tuners, standard Martin frets. The neck block is marked with serial number 1147708 (indicating 2006 as the year of manufacture) and "Custom" as shown in the photos. The guitar is in exceptional, nearly new and virtually unplayed condition. It has had no repairs or modifications. It has no flaws or abnormalities of any kind. It was kept in an April Aire humidified environment in the winter in a non smoking home. It comes in the original Martin (with brass Martin plate) TKL case as shown. This guitar will delight those looking for a little wider neck. The added bonus is that the larger neck width contributes to the sound. I have handled quite a number of guitars built with this nut width and they typically have a "larger than most sound" when compared model for model. The neck profile on this guitar is typical of what Martin is producing for these "Artist" type parlor guitars. You feel more of a C shape with the slightest V taper as you go up the neck toward the heel. You are going to be happy with this one! Guaranteed to meet the auction description. Check my feedback over the past several years; I only want happy customers! Here are the flat shipping rates (insurance for the ending bid amount included) for the item to be shipped USPS parcel post or UPS ground: East and Midwest = $60, Mountain = $65 and Pacific = $70. Remember to never accept a "second chance offer" after the auction unless you confirm 100% that it came from me. If you need to contact me for any reason, please call (979) 703-5905.
